TRAVEL VISA How to get a tourist visa for Egypt?

Make sure your passport has 6 month or more to be able to fly.
If you are from one to the eligible counties you can apply for a visa on arrival at the airport. This must be obtained before you pass through immigration, and paid using the exact monies, no change will be given.

Visa’s issued from the airport on arrival cost 25USD and valid for 30 days.

If you aren’t eligible for a tourist visa you can apply via the Egyptian Consulate, see the below list of counties:

Turkish passport holders must also apply online if they are age between 18yrs and 45yrs old.

WEATHER

Egypt offers all year-round sunshine with consistent sunshine and warmth through the summer and mild winters. The average annual temperature is 54 Degrees and about 3 inches of rain a year. Abu Soma offers 357 days a year of glorious sunshine, due to the dry dessert winds, keeping the humidity levels low.

BANKING

Most hotels and established stores in Egypt accept Mastercard and Visa, some smaller shops, cafes will prefer cash. The local currency is the Egyptian pound, but USD can be used in some establishments. Most places will not accept American Express or Diner Club Cards. There can be Transaction fee’s when using ATM machines, so please complete transactions in English and read information on/around the machine before use. If you are planning to use your card, please do inform your bank that you are travelling, and between what dates.

Time

There are various differences in time throughout the year due to the UK seasonal changes and from this year 2024 Egypt has started daylight saving between April 26th and November 1^st.

Food and water

We suggest that you only drink bottles water which can be purchased from hotels and shop vendors.
